A Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for carrying out the administrative affairs of the Panchayati Raj Institutions. In the case of a Grama Panchayat, it is the principal body responsible for implementing the decisions of the Gram Sabha and managing the day-to-day administration of the Panchayat.
